VICTORY

garderespoir:

I went through the diabetes tag and messaged everyone tagging junk food with diabetes (look I was procrastinating, it stopped me from doing my lit essay), asking them nicely to not do that anymore, because it hurts our feelings. I WANTED to virtually yell and scream, but I held myself back.

I’ve had a message back from every single one saying something along the lines of “I’m really sorry, thanks for telling me so nicely”

Is it fair that I kinda just wanna give up with trying to sort my diabetes out?

Cause its shit, and nothing works. I’m being made ill, and it hurts. I’m covered in marks cause of it, and its the reason I have such low self-esteem.

I fucking hate it so much and I dunno if I wanna go on anymore….

DO NOT GIVE UP. I believe in you. I gave up with my diabetes a few years ago and damaged my body because of it. If you ever need someone to vent to or anything I am always here. Good luck! :)

astriod:

One week since I was diagnosed with type one diabetes. Only just starting to hit me now.

It will get better! :) If you need someone to talk to I’m always here!!!

So recently I’ve been put on 5 shots of insulin a day and ever since then the top of my right leg has been swelling up and its like one enormous insulin lump and has anybody else got these cause its kinda freaking me out and my mam says I’m imagining it but I can’t be imagining that

YES. its called scar tissue. if you keep going around that area too much it wont absorb as well and you may get higher. so try and rotate every time you do a shot. you could try your stomach, arms, other leg, or even your butt. if you have questions or something just put it in my ask! :)

the pump

deathxparadise:

I’ve had diabetes for just over a year and my sugars have been up and down for months.. I’ve done some research and I’ve heard the pump is easier? What are the pros and cons? I’m not sure how it works and stuff

i got a pump this year and its amazing. my numbers are so much better. it can give smaller insulin doses so its more exact and i test and dose more because its so easy. if you have questions feel free to go to my ask! :)
